“This dynamic, physically demanding practice synchronises breathe and movement to produce an internal heat designed to purify the body. Ashtanga yoga is great for building core strength and toning the body. Prepare to sweat as you briskly move through a set sequence.” ~Yoga Journal
Incorporating chanting, meditation, pranayama, philosophy, and music into a vigorous flowing asana, or vinyasa, practice, Jivamukti is a physically and intellectually stimulating method. This system emphasizes bringing ancient teachings alive in a contemporary setting.
“Signature spinal rolling techniques coupled with our infusion of martial arts and calisthenics have forever reshaped the classic approach to postures and transition. Budokon yoga style continues to be one of the most influential and important innovations in modern yoga history. Our class is perfect for the athletic yoga student wanting a unique and powerful physical practice.” ~ Budokon University
The classes are 45 minutes long and incorporate: breathing techniques, postures, relaxation and yoga games. It is not only the physical side that is nurtured, but also the children's feelings and emotions. This is done by making them more aware of the way they view themselves, others and the world around them. All of this is done in a fun and non-competetive environment, using stories, props, songs and their imaginations! The classes are split into 2 age groups: 3-7 year olds and 8-12 year olds.
This system draws its influences from the roots of the Ashtanga Vinyasa system. Often accompanied by music, sequences within these classes will vary, adding an element of playfulness, but retaining an adherence to alignment and technique, ensuring a foundation for a safe and more effective practice.
During this time of fast paced living, social media and high expectations, we offer you a space free from all these pressures. Classes are taught in a nurturing and encouraging way.
